Sportingbet has reportedly signed a non-prosecution agreement with the US Department of Justice. As part of the terms of the agreement, Sportingbet will forfeit $33 Million to the US Government, alleged to be the amount of profits obtained as a result of offering gaming services to residents of the USA during the period between 1998 and 2006.

Sportingbet also agreed to provide the Department of Justice with certain documents upon request, as well as to make employees available for interviews with investigators.

This agreement follows a similar agreement made in 2009 between the US Department of Justice and Party Gaming, in which Party Gaming forfeited $101 Million.
