PokerStars is the largest online Poker Room. But being the biggest comes with certain liabilities. Like attracting attention from people looking to... take advantage.
Upon recent investigation, PokerStars found that a ring of Chinese players was colluding on the Double or Nothing Sit-n-go tournaments. Members of the ring would sit together at the same table, share hole card information, and dump chips to each other in efforts to ensure that each member of the ring would be able to cash out in the money.
As a result they initially refunded $587,000 to players that they deemed to have been damaged by the fraud, but now have increased the refunded amounts to $2 Million.
