As promised earlier, California state Senator Roderick Wright has introduced SB 1485, for the purpose of licensing intrastate online poker operators in California. They seem to be in a race with New Jersey now to see how can license online gaming first, as their plan is to push the legislation through prior to the end of 2010.
But take note, the legislation has teeth! In addition to licensing three operators to provide online poker to Californians, it will also make it ILLEGAL for Californians to play on online poker sites that are not licensed in California.
