Online gaming legislation, including both casino and poker, is before the New Jersey legislature.

S490, sponsored by Raymond Lesniak, is awaiting consideration by the New Jersey state Sentate, and A2570, sponsored by John Burzichelli, is awaiting consideration by the New Jersey state Assembly. The bills are reported to be identical.

According to reports, the bills have received bipartisan support in both chambers.

If the proposed legislation passes, they will give gaming companies currently operating brick and mortar casinos in Atlantic City the opportunity to apply for licenses to offer online gambling services to state residents.
