The No. 3 Oregon Ducks have faced tests before, but nothing quite like this. This Thursday the Pac-12 leader and No. 2 team in the polls will look to justify their lofty college football odds with a late-season victory against the No. 6 Stanford Cardinal.
While neck and neck with Florida State in the BCS standings, the Ducks have established themselves as a legitimate threat to win the National Championship with 11/5 odds on the college football futures – now they can back it up.
A victory over Stanford won’t guarantee their success against the best teams in the country when they eventually go on to face them, but it could set them on a path to take on the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in a bowl game.
Can Mark Helfrich and Marcus Mariota guide the Ducks to their first BCS National Championship in school history? The Pac-12’s first as a conference? (Sorry, USC, rules are rules.)
It all starts now with a date against a conference rival.
