When you open the Lock Poker website, the first image you’ll see is a picture of the Rat Pack; Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ol’ Blue Eyes himself looking cool and enjoying a smoke. It’s a very fitting visual when you consider that Lock Poker is a very classy and sophisticated poker room, much like those aforementioned legends of entertainment.
Lock Poker used to be a member of the Merge Gaming Network, but have since left and joined the Revolution Gaming network. They actually bought the Cake Poker Network, one of the biggest U.S. friendly networks, and rebranded it as Revolution Gaming.
Revolution still uses the Cake software, but has made various improvements along the way, including bigger VIP rewards and increased rakeback percentages.
Lock Poker is definitely an up-and-coming poker room and it has a lot going for it. We’ve already mentioned that Revolution Gaming is a U.S. friendly network, but Lock is also backed by a pretty big team of poker professionals including Eric Lynch and Annette Obrestad. The player volume ranks in the second tier, but you should be able find great action at any hour of the day.
Lock’s software is available for Windows and Mac and is one of the slickest poker rooms around. The graphics are great and players will surely enjoy the fully resizable tables and the multi-tabling options. The coolest feature may be the ‘Vault’ feature, where you can lock (pun intended) a percentage of your bank roll and password protect it.
Lock Poker doesn’t have the greatest game variety, offering only No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha and Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo games. Tournament players will be well entertained however, with sit-and-goes and low stake tournaments going off every second. Lock also hosts big weekly tournaments, along with satellites and qualifiers for big events. The level of competition tends to be lower than on other networks, which can mean great news for more experienced players.
Players can also rest assured knowing that Lock Poker has one of the better support teams in the business. They don’t offer phone support, but emails are replied extremely fast and you can always access the live feature right from within the lobby.
If you’re looking for a U.S.A. friendly poker network that offers great promotions and plenty of tournaments, look no further than Lock Poker. The software looks slick, the support is terrific and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to win some good money. The game selection may be somewhat limited, but we like just about everything else that is offered by Lock.
Lock Poker has a 200% Welcome Bonus up to $4,000. The bonus is paid out in increments of $5, for each 84 VIP points earned. You’ll earn one VIP point for every $1 you pay in rake during the cash games and 7 VIP points for every $1 you pay in tournament entry fees.
Lock also has a great rake program, with 58 prize levels and over 3,800 cash prizes. Each level has a limited number of prizes and the player who completes the level first will take home the cash prize. This ‘Big Chase’ promo awards prizes every hour and puts the cash payouts directly on your balance.
