While the consensus favorite to win the event is – as is often the case – fan favorite Tiger Woods, the high-profile 37-year-old isn’t the only star with a legitimate shot at success. Still, despite any notions that the veteran may be slightly overvalued can be quickly dismissed with a brief look at his most recent track record.

While Woods has struggled to win the 15th major of his career (he’s been stuck at 14 since 2008), his recent play is indicative of the dominant figure he once was. Not only did Woods win last week’s Bridgestone Invitational, but four more prior to that.

Wood’s biggest competition will come in the form of Phil Mickelson. Mickelson, who took 16/1 odds of winning the PGA Championship (versus Tiger’s 4/1) is coming off a victory at the Open Championship.

US Open winner Justin Rose (25/1) and Masters champion Adam Scott (16/1) both sit poised to do damage early as well.
