When the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and most interesting man in the NCAA squares off against the No. 1 team in college football, you can expect to hear about it. This Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide will have an eight-point advantage when lining up against the Texas A&M Aggies on the college football moneyline.
Despite the advantage on the moneyline, not all Tide fans are approaching the Week 3 matchup with what could be described as a sense of comfort. It was the Aggies’ monumental victory over Alabama last November, after all, that truly kicked off the Johnny Manziel Era of college football.
That loss was the only one the Tide suffered en route to their third BCS National Championship last season and while they may lead the college football futures with 5/2 odds of getting their fourth in five, the Aggies would be delighted to play spoilers.
With 14/1 odds of their own of winning the BCS National Championship, Texas A&M is a legitimate contender. If they can solve Nick Saban’s Alabama defense two years straight, expect to hear a lot more about Johnny Football and the Aggies in the future.
