Major Problems at ChecknRaisePoker.com 07/15/2006 04:48 PM

Recently, ChecknRaisePoker.com announced they were unable to pay entry fees for the 10 winners who wonseats to the WSOP in the "CheckPoints to Millions" promotion. Now a player has reported attempting to cash a $300 check issued by them, only to have it returned for insufficient funds. Another player has been waiting for a cash-out since the beginning of July. Both of these players report e-mails to ChecknRaise support were not answered, and in the case of the player waiting for a cash-out, live support provided inaccurate information. Poker Room Review previously e-mailed CnR support regarding an unrelated matter and they replied 32 days later, explaining they were currently experiencing a large e-mail backlog, yet never answered the questions outlined in the original e-mail.

House Passes Anti-Gambling Legislation 07/11/2006 03:43 PM
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act passed the House today by an overwhelming 317 to 93 majority. This Bill, which would modernize the existing Wire Act, as well as prohibit those engaged in the business of betting or wagering from knowingly accepting credit, electronic fund transfers, checks, drafts, or similar instruments, had been viewed by many as a Republican issue, yet 115 Democrats voted for this legislation. The Bill will now move to the Senate for consideration.

PartyPoker.com Refuses to Release Funds Stolen From Player 07/08/2006 05:03 PM
In November 2005, an individual fraudulently accessed a player’s Neteller account, changed the account information and made an unauthorized transfer of $30,950 to Intertops.com. This same individual then transferred $27,950 to PartyPoker.com. After a lengthy investigation, Intertops returned to the player the $3,000 remaining in the fraudulent account. Party Poker, however, has been uncooperative. An investigator for Neteller made every effort on the player’s behalf to resolve this situation, writing numerous e-mails and providing Party Poker with detailed documentation, to which Party has been totally unresponsive. After repeated phone calls by the Neteller investigator, he was finally able to reach someone in Party Poker’s alerts
